Security & data
Plain answers: where your files are stored, who processes them, and how to delete them.
Where your data is stored
Recordings, transcripts and minutes are stored on our secured servers. Hosting in a country of your choice is available on request.
Who processes your audio
To make transcripts and minutes, audio and transcript text are sent to Google's Gemini API. We use the paid API: under Google's terms for paid services, your content is not used to train Google's models. No one at Scriber listens to your recordings unless you ask us for support.
How long we keep it
By default we keep your data while your account is active. In Settings → Privacy and security you can have audio deleted automatically after 30, 90 or 365 days; transcripts and minutes stay until you delete them.
Deleting your data
Deleting a file moves it to Trash; after 30 days its recording, transcript and minutes are permanently deleted. Settings → Privacy and security → Delete account removes your account and all your files. We keep only minutes-used totals, without your name, for billing records.
Encryption in transit
All traffic between your device and Scriber is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS).
Who can see your files
Files are private to your account. In a team workspace, members see the workspace's files; only owners and admins manage members. A share link shows one file to anyone who has the link, and you can revoke it at any time. Scriber staff access your data only to fix a problem you report.
Backups
We back up the database every night. Backups are kept on our secured servers.
